NATIONAL AND STATE STANDARDS
Ayurveda is not a licensed health care profession in any of the fifty United States or the ten Canadian provinces. Consequently, there are currently no national, state or provincial standards for this curriculum. At the present time, a number of professional organizations including, the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA), the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals in North America (AAPNA), and the Council on Ayurvedic Credentialing (CAC), are currently elaborating their standards of approval for Ayurvedic training programs and for certification of Ayurvedic practitioners and consultants. NAMA has approved The Bodhananda Vedic Institute School of Ayurveda as a Professional School of Ayurveda. With that approval, completion of our Level 1 program of study in Ayurveda will fulfill the initial requirements for its 2017-2018 graduates who wish to qualify for NAMA membership as a Level I (Ayurvedic Health Consultant) Professional Practitioner. See the NAMA Website for further information.
